My reverse-grid 16th-to-1st in less than one lap charge at the Lotus Trophy support race at the 2005 Bathurst 1000, Australia. The track was greasy from rain and not a single panel was bent! Note off the line I am squeezed into the wall, my right mirror was folded back so I had a big right-side blind spot. All the cars are the same 89kW (119hp) Elises - and as the climb after turn one shows, mine is even a little lacking in power - though there is one dark green Exige (with wing) with 141kW (189hp). And no, I don't hit the yellow car (thanks to Azim seeing me!). This is from the 2005 Lotus Trophy series, I won this class B race by 14 seconds. I have been racing since 1995 and won the 2001 Mirage one-make championship, have driven on the Nurburgring and am a Sydney-based motoring journalist.
